Case 63047 question

Post by nifenut »

I have a 9-dot Case stockman 63047 with dark red bone handles, a California or turkish clip (not sure of the difference)with what appear to be steel liners rather than brass. Just wondered if the steel liners on this was common. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hiya Nut,

I can't see the knife, of course, but I'm guessing those are nickel-silver liners, vice steel. Not uncommon, and prettier, IMO.

Thanks Ringmaster. First time I have come across this. I didn't know anyone made them in nickel silver. The blades are tarnished; but, the liners don't have a speck of rust or tarnish on them.
