New guy here. My question is about a small pocket folder with the name Empire Knife Co. near the pivot on each blade. It is thin and small with two blades and what appears to be Tortoise shell sides. I searched the net and saw some similiar knives referred to as Tuxedo knives. Yet nothing exactly like it.
I came by the knife when I acquired a give-a-way china cabinet from a guy cleaning out his garage and the knife was in an otherwise empty drawer. I asked if he wanted it and he said, "Nope!" I too thought it was just a cheap POS until I cleaned it up and felt the closing action (Very crisp and tight) and spotted the name. I googled the name and found the knife was very old.
Is the knife valuable? If so how much is it worth? I realize that condition plays and important role but I would just like a "Ball Park" idea of it's worth should I decide to offer it for sale.
I'm not a collector nor do I intend to become one but I do appreciate old woodworking machines, old vehicles and furniture. This knife is an original woodworking machine of sorts.
Sorry I don't have a close up feature on my camera. Click here for larger pictures and one additional picture.
