Ebay Auction Question

Post by sunburst »

Ok folks I need your opinion..I noticed after the auction that the entire list of bidders on this knife "Coincidently" seem to have the two letters and the asteriks for their name..? ::disgust:: Am I just imagining this or does this look like a setup to you??

Hi;
Check the top line it's their new policy on higher dollar items. Funny thing is when I clicked on URL I could read buyers id.

hey there sunburst,
when the price goes over a certain amount . . . ebay likes to "hide" the identity of the bidders . . . not certain why they do it. I read it once, but I can't remember.

see here for another example

They are also trying to stop what I call the Good Ole Boy Bidding Code. That is if you know a friend or fellow forum member, forums across the board you don't bid on his/her item once they bid on it.

Problem with that code is that some of us use bidding software to make bids, we never know who bids on an item after we enter it in the software.
I for one use it, I can be out of town/state and the software will bid for me. If it is higher than my top bid, software won't bid. ::tu:: ::tu::

Somehow they claim this system will catch more shill bidders. ::shrug::
