Rodgers scissors

Post by FRJ »

I want to think these scissors were made by Joseph Rodgers. A long time ago.
I think they are beautiful. They look hand made to me but I really don't know.
Large pair has a 2 1/16" blade, tip to pin. Small pair has a 1 1/16" blade, tip to pin.
Thanks for looking.

Very elegant looking. They have nice clean lines. I think those are the best looking pair of scissors I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing Joe. ::nod::

"I want to think these scissors were made by Joseph Rodgers"
Do you mean made by old 'Joe' himself back in 17XX ?
I bet they were made by an employee, not a contract item.

I was hoping they were made by the Joseph Rodgers cutlery firm.
There was probably more than one Rodgers back in the day making scissors.
Joseph isn't stamped on the scissors so I was wondering.
I agree, they were probably made in house.

Very nice pieces. ::tu:: I like scissors but have so far avoided taking a look at them for fear that a new addiction would attack; I am very vulnerable in these matters. Same thing with razors. (I am not looking... I can't see you... ::paranoid:: )

I couldn't agree more. A new kick is the last thing I need. Trying very hard to stay focused but seeing those pictures ain't helping...

Nice scissors! They do look pretty old. Here is a pair I bought many years ago because they were so unusual. Each side is made from a single piece of metal(except for the back springs)and incorporates a 1 inch long knife blade and ivory handles. There is a tiny folded nickel silver case to hold them closed.
