I don't know that a double stamped knife is a bad thing, I kinda like 'em. I know alot of collectors that see them as a rare and desirable factory error. I have even seen them bring more money than usual examples. I have also seen quite a few that had one stamp with thicker letters on one stamp and thinner ones on the other stamp. My guess is the tang was hit by two different stamps.

I totally appreciate your comments on double-stamps, Gary. I just felt the thread might encourage someone to go for that knife for the wrong reasons. After reflection, I was also concerned that my initial post might have been somewhat incomplete, as I was speaking generally and not about this particular knife.
