I purchased this off of E-Bay. At first glance the knife appeared to be in pretty good shape but after disassembling it I noted that the blades were pitted deeper than I had originally thought. The scales were some type of wood but were pretty much used up (soft).
I cleaned it up, created some new walnut handle scales for it and re-assembled it. On the first attempt I had the brass lock in the wrong position so it wouldn't work correctly (this was after I had already peened the knife together

). I disassembled it a second time and put it back together correctly. Everything works as expected. It does seem like to screwdriver blade tension is stronger than it needs to be but I'll put it on the shelf for now and maybe take another run at it later this year. Its one of those knives that seemed to challenge me every step of the way. I left the bail off because Im not a big fan of them on any knife (just a personal preference).
Been sick with a bad cold for the past week and just starting to feel better. I have two Barlow knifes in process, one with jigged blue bone handles and one with smooth bone in an amber/sunset color. Hoping to get some time this weekend to put those back together.
Thanks for looking!
