6-Dot 6332

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

6-Dot 6332

Post by XX Case XX »

I was finally able to pick up this 1974 6332. Great snap, no wobble, and no cracks in the bone. Super clean. For whatever reason, it seems that the 32 pattern is kind of scarce these days. Well, good ones in excellent condition anyway. I also like the 47 & 92 patterns and they seem fairly easy to find so I grabbed this 32 before someone else did. Thanks for looking. That looks like a fine example Mike. I don't think you can go wrong with any '70's Case in that condition. ::tu::

Nice find! The 32 pattern was discontinued in the late 70s when Case introduced the 032 pattern as its replacement. I suspect that's why they're getting harder to find. (I don't have access to Steve's book right now but pretty sure the exact year it was discontinued will be in it.). Not sure if the 032 is still in production but I don't recall seeing any lately.

I really miss all the stockman pattern variants Case used to offer. ::teary_eyes:: Nowadays they make a limited few patterns but in umpteen million different colors.

Great knife Mike. I am an admirer of the 32 pattern as well. Nice that it has a pen in place of a spey to set it apart from the typical stockman. You also dont find many stockmen with half stops on all three blades, which is another nice touch. The length is just right, and I find it to be quite pocket friendly. The 2 blade version 6232 is a dang fine jack too.
The newer versions that have an 0 in the pattern number, 032, are still nice knives, but without the half stops, and the length is a little shorter as well. My preference lies with the older ones.
