Case Tested XX Expert 1932-1940 Tang Mark: Stag Grip?

My question is about the grip on this blade.

All other 'Expert' Case Tested XX knives I have seen pictured have a textured (checkered) black Hard-Rubber grip.

I note that this blade has been cleaned up; though it has a sheath that fits it quite well, I don't believe it is original. The butt-plate appears to be nickel-silver.

Have any of you seen similar grip treatment as Case original?

The knife and sheath will be for sale soon on eBay; I would like to know a little more about what I have before I offer it.

The blade may be right, but the handle is definitely a modern addition to the knife.

I agree that these knives are usually seen with checkered black rubber type handles.

Im looking for a Case Tested xx 208-5 fixed blade EXPERT. All the books show a 5 inch EXPERT with hard rubber handles. I have one. I sent it to an expert to add a inch on it to make it a 6 inch blade . Like it was supposed to be. Long stort short, this man told me that this fixed blade knife was never 6 inches in legnth. So I told him just to send it back. Meanwhile, I find a Tested xx 208-6 EXPERT for sale. I got the knife. It was the same as the 5 inch. And in good condition.
I still have the question about the 5 inch 208-5 EXPERT. Case must have made the Tested xx 5 inch EXPERT. But, Its just not in any book I know of.
Does anyone else have this knife with a 5 inch blade like I do ? Or is this knife rare ?
