Kutmaster Real or Fake ?
Hello, This my first post and I have learned from this site. I have this Kutmaster that looks to good to be true. It is 3 5/8" oal, spear master and sheepsfoot blades. Shield reads Coke-Cola with the word Drink above Cola. I cannot identify the pattern. Spear blade is marked Kutmaster Utica. NY. Made in USA. I think it is a fake. Your comments would be most welcomed. Robert ( WelderBob )

Sorry I can't help you on the Kutmaster. It does look too good to be true. Pretty knife though. I would like to think it was an untouched example of some of the better knives put out by Kutmaster, at least in the more recent years.
Hopefully someone will be among and answer your question, but I don't know enough about Kutmaster to say.
BTW,
To AAPK.

The Coca-Cola Company, and it's network of Bottlers, usually ordered these types of items through suppliers who had catalogs of premiums, emblazoned with the most current slogan, as well as many older slogans. These items were made by various companies licensed to use the logo, then brought together in a large catalog to make the ordering process simple.
That said, a local bottler (or group of bottlers) might choose to go directly to a manufacturer to make up something special...like items made for Coca-Cola and the State, or local, College or University, utilizing both logos.
Back to the knife...Kutmaster/Utica is still in business...

It looks like a nice knife, but I suppose it could've been made as a reproduction...or possibly a correct knife, (buffed...polished?) utilizing an older slogan.
In fact, the simple "Drink Coca-Cola" was the first slogan used by Dr. John Pemberton, after he whipped up the miracle drink in his backyard still, and took it to Jacobs' Pharmacy to have a few folks sample the new wonder drink.
We all know there are Case knives with Coca-Cola shields...why not a Kutmaster?

OK...Yes, I did work for The Coca-Cola Company for 33 years.

Kutmaster Real or Fake ?
Thanks for info, will check out the web site El Lobo. The reason I thought it might fake is the shield is not inleted into the handle. It is pinned through the handle and liner, but I can see light in the middle between handle and shield. I am still puzzled by the blade configuration. Thanks for your help. This is a great site ! I just noticed you mentioned it read Coke-Cola
...is that correct?
If so, that would be a fake shield at least, as it should read Coca-Cola. If it is just a typo, then we still have a mystery.
Oh,
Bill

Kutmaster Real or Fake ?
My mistake, got out the 15X magnifer it reads Coca Cola. 30 years of welding has not helped my vision ! Thanks for pointing it out.
The knife is real. No doubt about that. But is it a real, licensed coke collectible? You need to turn to the coke experts for that answer.
In less than one minute of googling, I found this site:
http://www.critterbob.net/colanet/ccc.htm
There is probably a coke collector forum somewhere on the net.
