crack or scratch?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

crack or scratch?

Post by waggo71 »

This 6235 1/2 has a very faint line, can't tell if it is a scratch or a crack. Either way a I am interested to hear some tricks of the trade to blend it in. It is below the rear pin about 1/4" running horizontally and about 1/4" long...seems an odd place for a crack to me but stranger things have happened.

negative, it does not touch the pin, it is below (see updated pic). In your pic it shows as a white line below and left of your circle.

It doesn't look like a crack or a scratch.
It looks like a dent . Perhaps it was a scratch before the handle was installed, and it was buffed out (in finishing) to the point you see it today.

If that caught your eye, I can imagine the rest of your collection...

What can I say, I suffer from CDO. It's like OCD but all of the letters are in alphabetical order...
