Vintage straight razors I've collected

Post by bronze4u »

Hey guys! Here are just a few of my vintage straights. I think I have about 100 + straights.

Just thought I'd share some of them.

Very impressive collection.
I have just started on straights so my base is pretty small but I have one that I love.

Man, that's a really nice collection. All appear to be in excellent condition. It must have taken you years of searching and dedication to put that together. Thank you for sharing pictures with us, that's very impressive. ::nod::

Beautiful razors.

As I've written before, except for Case Cutlery and maybe one or two other marques, straight razor collecting is all about the handles and blade condition.

Plain black and white handles, regardless of material, are just so-so razors.

Genuine bone, stag, patterned and dyed celluloid and nickel-silver "bolsters" or appliques are what make for a stunning collection and that is a stunning collection.

I set up my Robeson collection a few years ago next to a man, still unknown to me, that must have had a thousand or more razors on or under his table.

Most of them looked like yours.

I've never seen so many flowing hair or naked lady razors before or since.

If done correctly and properly displayed with shiny, clean, unused or minimally warn blades, just slightly exposed, a straight razor display like that cannot be outdone.

Those are very nice old razors!

Beautiful!

The celluloid on those fancy scales scares me. Seen way too many go south.

Your collection is truly magnificent. ::tu::

I've got four razors. None of the four come close to the exellence or any of yours.
If, in my traveles, I had come across two decent razors in a row I would have considered looking at them more often,
but all of the razors I looked at were trashed in one way or another.
Your fabulous collection implies a real dedication and a strong passion.
Congratulations on a very fine collection.

Magnificent collection Kirk! I have a bunch of them but the blades on some suffer a bit. I got into collecting them when the supply of good pocket knives started to dry up. Now it is hard to find decent razors so I started collecting letter openers. Too many things! ::dang::

Just when I'm thinking that I have met a man that only collects ring turn knives, you show us this. Wow great collection. Is there such a thing as a ring turn razor? Glad you shared them. ::tu:: ::tu::
