Wondering If There Is A Way To Identify This Watch Fob Knife

Post by jtrockboy »

This watch fob knife has no markings other than "STAINLESS" on the blade tangs, and I was wondering if it can still be identified. I've tried to match it up by looking at loads of pictures, but no luck. It looks like a nice knife and I'd like to get some info on it. Hoping someone with knowledge can help.

Here are some pics:

Looks like what's called a skeleton knife. These were made as completely finished knives but with out handles or bolsters. These were sold to jewelry stores who then applied gold-plated or silver-plated handles, often custom engraved with initials. Hard to say who made yours, or much else about it unfortunately. Imperial Knife Company was a significant supplier of skeleton knives but there were others.

Sometimes they stamp the name on the bail or the gold content(if any).I have a similar one that I believe was made by Hayward)a men's apparel outfit).
