Dating Case Kodiak Knife

Post by just bob »

Anyone have the straight scoop on dating a Case Kodiak knife? I know the stars on the guard and even the Styrofoam in the packaging have something to do with things but can't seem to find one source with all of the answers. All help appreciated.

Bob I bought one recently and it seems like Sargents 7th edition had the best info on dating one but I don't have mine available at the moment. The box cover also has a clue if there is no registered mark after the Case logo it's pre 79 also if the backing material is Styrofoam it's post 73 cardboard is pre 73.
