Re: Remington Electrician
That one has seen a lot of use. Almost looks like it has been around a celluloid knife that was off-gassing also.
I have one that is even rougher than the one you posted the link to. I believe its a legit Remington electrician, but I don't believe they were ever issued in the military.

Re: Remington Electrician
Thanks Dale! I had never seen that type of lock button on one before. Just wondering.

Re: Remington Electrician
Greg, I agree with Dale that this appears to be an original knife. Some reference indicate that it was produced with no shield. However an original Remington Jobber price list I have stated it had an 18% nickel silver shield, bolster and trim. So the shield I think is expained. I agree with Dale that the blades look as though they have been exposed to corrosion of some type such as possible off/ out gassing from another knife.
PS the lock screwdriver is correct for this pattern. Also this pattern was for the tradesman and not produced for the military.

Re: Remington Electrician
Hey Rocky thanks for the info. I don't actively collect Remington so I am not bidding on the knife but I was curious about that locking mechanism on the screwdriver. Is that unique to Remington?

Re: Remington Electrician
I don't believe so but don't quote me on that one. I have seen other electrician knives or similar lock mechanism on other knives that appear to be the same. It's not a bad little knife I see it going for around $100 but some may pay more if their bit by the auction bug/ bidding frenzy. JMHO

Re: Remington Electrician
Thanks Greg. Ray was kind enough to trade it to me. It's sets center stage in my favorite display case. I've never seen it on other brands either. But then again I don't venture out much. Lol

Re: Remington Electrician
In the one that you showed in the OP, Dale said that it looked well used, but to me it just looks used, and still has partial etch on the blade. I paid just a little less for mine than the OP sold for
