EDC knives

Keep browsing for a EDC user knife and after perusing more and more, keep getting drawn to the GEC line up for a trapper, Queen and Canal Street (really like the Amber Stag Bone Stockman), Schatt & Morgan (who wouldn't but I wouldn't EDC one either). Would anyone have recommendations on a Sowbelly Stockman for a newby?

Bulldog Stag...

Hen/Rooster has a nice one too, made veeeerrrry similar but at a higher price point.

what price range are you shooting for? lots of good knives out there.

As a realtive newbie to the whole slipjoint thing myself let me tell you one thing I've already learned gmanksu....

The "what knife should I buy next" difficulties are only going to get worse...a LOT worse.

Right now, I'm know what knife I'm buying next and am saving up for it.

The one after that is any of about a dozen....I'd like a GEC EDC, there's a bunch of Schatt&Morgan and Queen peanuts I want, I'd like to try a Case Tru Sharp Seahorse Whittler, and to make matters worse I got a hankerin' for a fixed blade (Russell/Grohmann Boat Knife, Marbles Plainsman, Buck Vanguard).

Depends on the knife, I figure I should be able to find a nice carrying USA made knife in the 40-70 range depending on style and maker of course. I just pulled out a Old Timer 34 OT that was my grandpa's last knife, never sharpened either I would use it but just can't bring myself to use something that I want to pass down with the stories. I am leaning toward the Queen Red Amber Stockman as a carrying knife and the others will just have to wait.

I have a 1982 Queen 9105 Jack as my secondary EDC. Just slightly larger than my primary EDC 78 22087 but a lot more HD. This one doesn't have snap, it goes CLACK when closed. A little banged up but not too bad for a 25 yr old.
