Inquiring minds want to know why did Mr. DD pull the plug early on a Case MOP Elephant Toe, and sell to the highest bidder when the sky was the limit for this awe inspiring knife? He had ten bids up to $1,325.00, and abruptly just sold the knife outright to the high bidder before the end of the auction. What could he be up to, this master salesman. Is this some kind of new tactic that he's come up with? The item number for this knife on eBay is. 170137260424.

I've never sold anything on Ebay but I wonder if they charge a percentage of the sale price as a commission. If so, it might be profitable for the seller to get an offer that he considers to be at the top end of what he can get for the knife off line, so to speak, sell it at that price, and save the commission money that would have gone to Ebay for the difference. Either that or he's just a nut.

They assess a Final Value Fee regardless of who buys it, if he was taking "Best Offers" and accepted one then he woould pay that fee regardless...

I imagine the bidder told him if he would end it he would pay him $1500 or so for it. Just a toss of the coin if it would have brought that much or not. I am sure he didn't stop the bidding just to take the current bid. He's a dandy....

I think Case got worked up about it,for some reason.Might have been because their name was not prominent enough on it, and/or parker never cleared it with them first. p.s.,these are some of the things i heard, i dont present them here as fact.

he pulled a couple of knives before the end that had no bids as well. did'nt want to sell for opening bid. on one he claimed an error in his listing.

This is why.
He has shills (same bidders, even with name (ID) changes) bid the knife up and then receives an email or call asking sell it outright and as the 1325.00 was the shill, any bid at or above that makes him way more scratch than he would've realized, ebay gets their seller fee, and the whole travisty continues. Think ebay will help you against him should there ever be a discrepancy,,think again. Ebay is the biggest non-entity on the net. I have yet to hear or see any action or good come of someone being outright stolen from. Go look at the bustedupcowgirl website,,you'll see.
Being one of his unfortunate former buyers/victims pre-sociopathic-labotomy (his),,,I share this with you all. He is one of the reason(s)(unscrupulous sellers) that Case Classics have hit the skids. How we continue, the knifers world body, to buy the severly over-inflated, moreover deceitfully described knives as they can't control themselves and want, want, want , is beyond any reasoning sans greed:roll: .
It's a tremendous shame, honestly. DD used to be an upfront guy, then he got into a pissing contest with the dick-tater leader of one of the online clubs over a word (truly, hard to believe, but true), and he went south. He is now dishonesty personified and he blackens the hobby for us, the others who are honest.
If you buy from him, check the condition thoroughly as it seems he has the most 'pristine mint' knives I have ever seen . He cares not of deceit or theivery. Be assured of the 'snakepit' experience.
This testimony is my first-hand experience,,not conjecture or second hand info. Find your goodies elsewhere,,, there are plenty honest sellers with just as good knives. Be discerning, otherwise it's 'just another knife'

Bubba, The eBay sellers name is Damascus Dude. He has several other names also, one of which is nyetnotice. There are probably more, but I'm not familiar with them yet. I've blocked him from bidding on any of my knives. Wouldn't buy a knife from him period.

Good guess, they are Ducks of a flock. I have seen numerous listings with the Dusty Duck that were less than accurate and some were just WRONG! And I have sent more than a couple knives back becuase the wrong knife was sent. I'll stop there lest I receive another threatening letter from that group for a lawsuit of libel. Though, I've never written anything knowing it to be untrue, I do know that some out there don't like me revealing the truth.

Here's one, anyone care to guess what's wrong with this listing. It is wrong, I guarantee it. Don't worry, it is wrong, do you know why?

If it was actually a 1998 Bulldog knife it should have the standing dog stamp along with the date as opposed to the double dog stamp which didn't appear until 2000. Apparently an oversight.

100% correct and in fact an error I see pretty often on Bulldog listings. The double dog tang stamp appeared mid 2000 until about 2003 and in 2004 they went back to the fighting dogs stamp that was the original tang stamp in the first generation. So, the knife was made between 2000 and 2003 by the double doghead stamp. It makes the year 2000 kinda interesting as it started with a standing dog and 2000 tang stamp. Then there was also the Anno Domini (sp) etch and 2000 number shield.
I agree, an oversight I see quite often, in fact there is a few listed this way in the Bulldog search on ebay.
