LARKIN CO. KNIFE

I HAVE A FIXED BLADE knife with the larkin co. stamped on the middle of the blade. can anyone tell me about this maker? ty

I cannot find a Larkin knife Company in any of my references, but I really didn't think I would. A name on a knife can have nothing to do with who made it. How about a photo?

The only reference I can find to it is in Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings (1998 edition).
Goin's mentions the name Larkin but gives no further information. No date, no location, nothing.

I would take this to mean that John & Charlotte Goins were aware of the brand name, but had no other information available when that edition was published (1998).

If you are really interested in researching the brand, I would take this as an encouraging sign.
If you were just looking for a quick answer, sorry we couldn't be of more help.
Perhaps another forum member will know something.

Phil is right, a photo or scan of the knife might help.

ElLobo might be on to something there. A good example of what I was trying to get across. Larkin, like any other company that dealt in dry goods at the time, could have the knife manufacturer put any name they wanted on the blade.

I always enjoy a knife mystery.

Good morning Folks ,

Here is an old Larkin straight razor & box I have, no other markings on either one. My razor guide sezs they were Made in England, no dates or other info except what has already been posted in this thread. Fonts appear to be like the link El Lobo posted, I do believe
