6265 jigged handle

Post by GirlRaisedInTheSouth »

Hi - thanks for looking. Was wondering if anyone had ever seen jigging (like a groove) on a vintage Case 6265 SAB? Thanks a bunch!

I had one like that once, I believe it was called a worm groove.

Some of those old handles with a single groove zig-zagging down the middle were called Indian Trail.

Many Case folding hunters from the Tested and XX eras will have jigged bone handles with what looks like several long grooved running down the handles in addition to the regular jigging. Collectors refere to this as "worm groove"

I do not believe that it was intentional since it seems to be random and not every knife has it. It is possible that it was due to worn or broken jigging tooling.
