Sanding belts from Industrial Abrasives ?

Post by Ringmaster »

Hey Guys,

Have any of ya'll ever tried the sanding belts from Industrial Abrasives Co. ? I was just wondering about the quality, since they're so cheap, compared to everyone else I've found...

Their deal on 2 x 72 belts (buy a dozen, get a dozen free) comes out to only $1.80 each.

Anybody got any experience with 'em ?

I've primarily stuck with the tried and true. Norton, Truegrit and some from Pop's.

Sorry, I haven't tried them.
I have had great luck with Tru-Grit. I get very good ware out of their Klingspor belts.

If you try Industrial Abrasives, please let us know how good their belts are.

Hukk, Dale, et.al.

Well the shop is by no means finished, but the grinders are at least in place. So, whenever I take a break, I've been "piddling" with some old stuff. Neway, I ordered some of those belts from that Industrial Abrasive outfit this morning. When they come in, I'll letcha know what I think.

48 belts - (24) 2 x 72" and (24) 1 x 42" cost less than $70.00, with shipping included. Mix and match grits, as you choose. If they don't fly apart when I turn the machine on, they oughta be worth that...

Later guys,

Less than the cost of 12 Norton's or a dozen ceramic belts. Some steels will just eat belts, while others are easier.

I believe that price is for AO belts . GLPierce has them for a dime less.
It's not a bad deal for AO belts, either way.

Might want to get a few tried and true belts. Ceramic, Norton, AO, Blue Zirconia, Trizact, and the Silicon Oxide belts. Heck I should do that too, I got most of them already. Some steels are pure hell on belts.
