New Case bonestag in CV?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

New Case bonestag in CV?

Post by Pseudonym »

Does anyone have any info on the bonestag cv patterns Case is supposed to release this year? In particular when this is supposed to happen?

Just to clarify, said knives were mentioned, as an aside, in a bladeforums thread about the 2016 collab knife a while back, and a photo was shown, but details were few.

I just got the new Shephard Hills catalog in the mail and it has the new bonestag line in there, great looking handles, but the blades are all stainless steel, no mention of any CV offerings except the usual yellow delrin

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate you taking a look at the catalog.

Perhaps I should've just posted the link earlier, but here it is. My apologies if this is in any way frowned upon.

Hope it's true. Case has been putting more CV knives back into their product line. Lots of CV knives in their 2016-17 Core Product Guide. However the only 6.5 bonestag knives in it are all stainless steel. Doesn't mean they won't do it, but nothing in the latest catalog.

The 2016 Fall Products Catalog lists an additional eight knives to be released as the Pocket Worn Whiskey Bone CV set. The color is a blend of "whiskey brown and burnt orange" (umber) with a pewter Case XX USA shield. OH
PS I have the 2016 Core Products, Spring, and Fall dealer catalogs - none list any Bone-Stag in CV.

Thank you, gentlemen, for the help and for taking the time to check the catalogs. I contacted Case directly - perhaps this should have been my first move, but I digress - and was told that the five Bose-designed production patterns in bonestag will indeed be released this August. When inquiring about this I was sure to give all the details on where the information came from, including mentioning the bladeforums post and photos, and even listed the individual patterns as to hopefully avoid any possible confusion, so hopefully what I was told will, in fact, be the case (no pun ;) ).

Old Hunter: may I ask where you were able to find the fall 2016 list? I checked their website and do not see it yet listed. With that said, thanks for the tip.

If you are a member of the Case Collectors Club they mail you a new catalog when they come out. I got mine about a week ago.

One of the lumberyards that I sell building materials to has a large hardware dept. with a Case knife display. The Hdw. Dept. manager is a buddy of mine - he saves all Case catalogs, dealer price lists, Case Collector Club booklets, specialty products, and Case brochures for me. He gave a stack of Case stuff to me two weeks ago. OH
