I thought that this was interesting. We have all seen many of the ubiquitous PURINA checkerboard handled knives made by Remington and later by Utica/Kutmaster.

This is the first that I have seen with the original packaging:

That is cool to see. Thanks for sharing that. I have had the privilege of owning three old knives that I got to unwrap after they were sealed away for 60 plus years and it's always kind of a tough decision to keep it wrapped up or open it. Mine were all in cosmoline and were two of the big black Navy and Air Force survival knives and a Korean Way era Schrade Auto. I opened them but the auto has never been fired. This might be an interesting thread if people kept the original wrappings (mine just had smelly wax paper around the cosmoline. ___Dave

That's very neat. I've seen a lot of the Purina knives, but none in the original package.

That is very cool Steve!! Not often you get to see the original packaging - I assume that knife is "minty" as well if it never left the wrapping...

Now there is a prime example of "factory condition". I would be afraid to buy that unless it had been unwrapped. With my luck, I would unwrap it only to find the Celluloid had gassed.

I have had a couple of them with the original box, but not the packing. I just sold an unused one for $45.00 on ebay "without the box" so it looks like the seller is hoping the original packing boosts the value a lot!!
