Water Buffalo scales that is. It was my first time working with this material and I love this stuff, it looks pretty good too! Looks like I didn't get all of the rouge off the blade............

I love streaked Buffalo Horn!!! It's beautiful, easy to work with and tough as nails. Can't ask much more from a handle material then that!! And those red fiber spacers are a great touch.

Excellent skinner, sir!! Looks like another winner for that future Elk huntin' trip!!

Well, I skinned my knees a couple of times but that's all.
So I have to go by just how this thing looks and it's a real looker.
Very handsome and smart looking knife.
It seems any hunter would want it for skinning.
That classic tapered tang really sets it off. Nice work.

I am with you, I love water buffalo horn!
It is easy to work, it will really take a nice shine; the only downside to working with buffalo horn is the smell.

Gary that knife looks great. I really like the way you've shaped the handles. It just looks like it would lay in the hand perfectly. Beautiful knife.

FRJ thanks for the look and the kind words. The taper (besides looking really cool) helps lighten and balance the knife. A lot of makers skeletonize there handles, I like this better.

The stuff is a little stinky Dale, especially when hogging off large areas with 50 grit! A guy needs some Febreze in his shop.........

Thanks Phil for the feedback. It fits really nice in the hand and the material is surprisingly "grippy" for lack of a better word. With the shine and that stuff you would this it would slick but it not. We'll see how it acts with a little "moisture" on it here about next week............
