Youser! That is a beauty!
OK Lyle, I can understand you having all the farmer jacks in the USA because you have bought them all!
But now when you come up with mint knives that are that old,
I am beginning to think you have a time machine and you are going back before WWII and buying up all the farmer jacks in inventory in country hardware stores!
Don't worry your secret is safe with me as long as you promise to take me with you on your next trip.

Re: Remington farmers jack
Lyle that's a real nice one. I think a farmer's jack has to be one of the prettiest patterns ever made. Simply stunning.

Re: Remington farmers jack
I thought some of the experts here might give some insight to these R4633s.I had posted these before, but I don't think the Remington people commented,or at least I don't remember .
I have these two and will show the pictures of another that sold on eBay and then again on Morphy's auction. All three are alike in the frames ,pruning blade, and stamping. What do y'll think.

Re: Remington farmers jack
Those are really beautiful Lyle. Now am I right in assuming that the primary blades were pruners and that they've been sharpened down into more of a sheepsfoot?

Re: Remington farmers jack
Lyle - that Remington with the French Ivory is a beauty. Hard to believe it has survived so long in such good condition.

Re: Remington farmers jack
Thanks Wade,I believe they all came from the factory like this, but not Remington,PAL? That's why I posted here, thought someone might have something more concrete. To me the creamy colored one looks like some of the bone PAL used??
Thanks Mel,it sure is a trophy.

Re: Remington farmers jack
Have any of these old Remington's been cleaned and that is also the question of clean or not to clean and when or why not
Re: Remington farmers jack
Not the one I posted since Jim Sargent put it's picture in his earlier books, because it has all the same markings it had back then.
None of any I have since I purchased them.

Re: Remington farmers jack
I have one Remington Barlow and a big cigar, probably 4 inches with main spear blade and smaller pen blade at opposite ends and neither one has a pattern stamp' any input?
Re: Remington farmers jack
Would love to see pictures of it but not having a pattern number is fairly common on the later 30's knives.

I still have to figure out how to post pictures, I've got a few I'd like to know more about. Got two barlow's one marked r6104 for I think the other is not marked 1/2 congress no pattern number a swell end jack marked 2213 (real nice) and the cigar for lack of not knowing the actual pattern
