Somebody Here Should Buy This Knife
As far as I can tell, this is an exquisite 1948 - 1959 Robeson junior stockman.
That is some very pretty Strawberry Bone, actually, some of the best I've ever seen.

Charlie,
That's a fine lookin' knife! Would love to have real Robeson since the only one I have is a like you said a Camillus or an Ontario. I just don't do the E-bay thing
kinda like not doin' the facebook thing either. Wonder how high it'll go in the remaining time?

Re: Somebody Here Should Buy This Knife
You guys have no idea how magnanimous I'm being here........
I actually do not own a genuine Strawberry Bone example of this knife.
I have it in brown bone, pre-war and I have it in Strawberry Delrin, post-war, with a Flame-Edge master.
This is a hundred-fifty dollar knife, easily.

I love the knife except how the shield looks around it, it looks like it was put on with a shovel
-( life is too short to carry a cheap knife )-

Re: Somebody Here Should Buy This Knife
Gino, the ROBESON shields on these 1950's to 1960's knives were not pinned. They were glued.
The shield on that knife, however, is absolutely no distraction for me.
I do, however, think it's possible the shield might not the right size. There were, at least, two different sized ROBESON oval shields from this time period. This might be the smaller shield placed in an inlet made for the larger or the shield might be correct for this size knife, but the cutler mistakenly cut the inlet for the larger.
Here is a Delrin handled 728 from the same time period. I don't think this photo clears anything up for me re' the shield on the OP knife.

I put in one bid at 75.00 and it stayed at 58.00 for a couple of days. I got to thinking about the looks of the shield and what Gino had said and backed off. I believe it brought about 92.00.

Re: Somebody Here Should Buy This Knife
We've been at my sister's in Pensacola since the 5th and didn't get home until nine this evening.
There was a box from Phil Stevens with our mail.
He bought this Strawberry Bone Robeson stockman with its screwed up shield and sent it to me as a gift.
WOW. What can I say but just "Wow"?
There is not a better site, nor are there better people, on the net than our AAPK and the folks that hang out here.

Re: Somebody Here Should Buy This Knife
Absolutely, and I was joking about the shield.
Actually, without the magnification in those Ebay photos, the shield looks just fine.
