These Shaw-Leibowitz decorated Schrade knives have been mentioned on a forum before, maybe not here. It's easy to find some info on the people who are the artists, but I can't find anything about these knives in particular. If anyone knows when they were done, or anything at all, please contribute some info. I wonder if the gold bear on the handle has anything to do with the Baers who owned the company?? The knife is stamped Schrade Cut. Co. but I seem to recall a reissue was done of the early stamping!?

I just wanted to see who would pop in on this one. Shaw Leibowitz was a custom manufacturers house in ( I believe PENNSYLVANIA ). They did very intricate castings in the ( Lost wax method ) for Schrade . Two possibly three versions. I think a bear a fox and perhapes a third all gold plated. Schrade had found some old knife skeletons and commissioned this very limited high end issue. 2 bladed sleeveboards ect. Vintage is tough to remember but, I would guess late 70 tys 79 ??? and early 80tys. Nice find. Hope this helps. LT PS Nice knife Charlie.

Hey Charlie I was reading last night ( now I cannot find it but ) Shaw Lieb was not from Penn as I thought I remembered but New Cumberland W Virginia
