Can people REALLY be this unknowning?
Check out this old R-1613 Remington. It lists in the book for $2,750 and it opened for $19.99 with NO RESERVE!
This is going to be fun to watch this one.

Have faith in the eBay buyer, my friends. I collect Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses. They routinely start at 99 cents to $9.99 with no reserve, and just as routinely sell for just about exactly what they're worth--not more; not less. Low selling prices come not from a low starting bid, but from items with poor descriptions or ones that are listed in the wrong place.

Well....
....the knife went for $212.50. My thinking is, if the knife was indeed as pictured and described, it would have went much higher if the seller had NOT posted the little note at the bottom saying "sold as is, no refunds". According to the Remington Book, and by the looks of the knife, it was in pretty good condition, but I think the "NO REFUNDS" scared lots of potential buyers off. If it had been listed differently, I think it would have went for a much higher price.
Just my uneducated thoughts on the subject.

I tend to agree with you, Dewman. I'm interested in a knife on eBay right now and the seller is saying the same thing. He has very detailed photos of the knife and, so far, has not answered questions I have asked, saying the photos speak for themselves. I believe it is worth a good deal more than he is likely to get for it.
