1998-1999 Case Select

Post by Hobo62288 »

Looking to buy 1998-1999 Case Select red bone knives in mint or atleast near to mint condition. I'm trying to complete the set. My grandfather had started it before he passed away so I would really like to finish it but the knives arent around that much it seems. I have the pocket hunter and the 6333 small stockman. I am so new I really dont have anything much I could trade unfortunately but let me know if your willing to sale. Thanks

I'd need to check to see if I have others, but I'm sure I have the Slabside Hunter (fixed blade) from that set. It's still in mint condition with the box. I'd also need too determine a value on the knife, but I'll do that after I find out if it's one you're interested in.

I am interested. Does that come with a sheath? Also, are you wanting cash only or is trades possible? I dont have much but hopefully I'll have at least one knife you'll want. Do you collect anything in particular? Older Case knives instead of modern or a certain pattern? Please let me know if you have other 1998-1999 red bone Select knives too.

Yes, it's complete with sheath. I like the older Case Knives if you have something along those lines to trade.

Well I appreciate the feedback. If you don't care to give me a few days to pick up some knives from a friend I should have an older muskrat in near mint condition. Maybe this will give you some time to see if you have any others from this set and decide a price on the Slabside just in case you dont want to trade. Hopefully we can work something out with the muskrat. That sound OK with you?

Hey Hobo,

As Lyle said, Bob is a great guy.

Not sure if you have the CASE Select Checklist or not. If not here is a link to it...

I might have 1 or 2 but honestly can't recall either way at the moment. It will be a week or two before i know for sure though. Best of luck filling out the collection.

Hey Bob, would you be interested in a near mint 65-69 red bone muskrat in near mint cindition? Its so nice, handle seems perfect and still has that rough jigged feel to it. I dont even wanna get rid of it but its all i have thats old and worth anything to trade for. What would you be willing to give for it? Ill try to post pics after work or tomorrow. It will be midnight EST before Im off work.

65-69 is definitely within my collecting range. If you want to PM me your email address we can start talking business and swap some photos in a media that's a little easier for pictures. I've also got a Select 6333 in Redbone from the same year. A 6333 from the XX Era in redbone is one of two knives I have that my Dad owned, so I built a collection of 33's around it. While his knife holds an amazing amount of sentimental value, the Select 6333 only is valued at what I paid for it plus whatever the market has done since then (whatever that may be). In other words, the Select 6333 can be had too if you don't already have one. Some good pictures sound like the next logical step, so I'll break out the camera and drop you a PM once I've taken some. FYI, I remember keeping the boxes for both of these knives, if that helps.
Thanks!
