Camillus Curved Barlow

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Camillus Curved Barlow

Post by upnorth »

First one of these I have seen!

Hand peened, nice old darkened stag, generally well preserved.

Make one exactly like that your next project Charlie. I would buy one and I'm not even especially fond of Barlows. ::drool::

Awesome Barlow Charlie! ::drool::
Someone sent me a picture or a link to B/F where it was posted.
That is the first one I have ever seen, and I really want one!
The squared off bolsters with the rounded shoulders are over the top!
And the CAMILLUS stamped on the side hits it out of the park!
In the curved handles and that awesome stag hits it over the moon!
I have not seen a knife I was so in love with in years!

If you ever see another one for sale, you know how to get a hold of me.

I have to sign off now, my keyboard is shorting out. I didn't have my drool bucket within reach. ::facepalm::

Dale you are describing how I felt, when, barely in control of my faculties, I shakily bid a fair chunk of coinage on that knife! Hypnotized!
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Next one is yours, Dale!! :D

I don't even like Barlows and I LOVE that one! I'd own one in a minute! Great find!

Wow - I do not recall a knife ever getting so much love before! I agree that it is just about the most unique and desirable Barlow that I have ever seen.

Nothing happening on AAPK this morning so I was surfing knifeforums.com and found this. I would have asked permission but the fella who posted it only had 5 posts and hasn't been back to the forum since June 29th, 2014. His user name is jon_slider which looks familiar but I can't remember where I saw it. Just looked and he's an AAPK member. No wonder it looked familiar. Let me know if you want to have the picture taken down Jon.
