The Case 75 frame - Large Stockman, Moose, Texas Jack, etc.
I like the Case 75 frame and have been slowly picking up a few; I started with a vintage 1972, eight dot Moose a few years ago and have since added a modern 6375 Large Stockman, a modern 6275 Moose, and tonight I bought (off of e-bay, a rare occurrence) a 6175 "Large Texas Jack" (as the seller labeled it). I have looked for, but never seen evidence of, a 6275 Texas Jack - a large version of the 6292 Premium Texas Jack - has there ever been a jack knife with two blades hinged on the same side built on this frame? Thanks, OH
Here are the ones I have (the 6175 should ship tomorrow - e-bay sellers picture).

Now you're talking my language. I'm tempted by many, but my first and true love is a Case 6375! You've got some lookers there.

OH, I sure wish they did. That would be one heck of a carry knife. It makes me wonder, now, why Case never did make one. I have their Case xx USA 92 which is a fine knife.
Steve Pfeiffer's book, Collecting Case Knives, concerning the 75 pattern doesn't show a large jack. Only the Moose and a Stockman.
Great looking knives you have there.

Hey OH! Those are some fine looking knives you have there. I have never heard of a 6275, although that would be a cool pattern for certain. I'm a big fan of the 6375 though, here is mine... it's actually a 6.5375CV seeing as how it is bonestag. It's actually one my favorite knives in my accumulation, it has seen a ton of use and the CV blades take and hold a razor sharp edge. Great pattern.

Case did at one time make the 6275 in a two blade jack configuration with clip and pen blades at the same end like a Texas jack. A rare bird only made pre 1930. I have only ever seen maybe two examples.FRJ wrote:OH, I sure wish they did. That would be one heck of a carry knife. It makes me wonder, now, why Case never did make one. To me, the 75 pattern is one of the nicest looking of all patterns. Here's one of mine.

Mike, great looking bone-stag - I have one Case knife with those handles and they are eye-catching - in a Large Stockman they are even better!
FRJ, it would be a heckuva knife, for carry or display - who knows, maybe Case will make a modern version.
Steve, thank you for the knowledge - pre-1930 you say? Guess I won't expect to find one at a gunshow!
Dickens, yours must be Chestnut bone - it looks great.

The 6375 is my all time favorite Case. I just wish they would come out with a 2 blade Jack knife version. Clip & pen blade (or the short spey)

Dang Dr. Magoo - that is genuine pocketworn! Nice blue bone too on your modern. Now that we know the answer to the 75 frame Texas Jack question, thanks to Knifeaholic, we might as well keep posting Case 75 frame knives in this thread. I'm hoping my new "Half Moose" shows up today or tomorrow; for the time being here is my 1972 vintage Case 6275 Moose - it has very dark red bone (you can only see the red color in strong sunlight). Larry, stunning as usual! FRJ, gotta love that redbone!
Re: The Case 75 frame - Large Stockman, Moose, Texas Jack, e
Thanks, Tim. I like that red bone too, but just the way these older Case's are made you can always, for the most part, rely on them being very sound knives. I'm glad to have them ...... I want more.

As usual, a fine group of 75's, Larry. I have a few that I will post. A Red Stag XX LP, A Tested Stag, and an old W R Case & Sons 5375 stag. Note the position of the pull on the W R Case & Sons.
Thanks for looking.
