Hello from Phila PA

Post by willc »

Hey everyone, I just found this forum and am amazed at the wealth of info.
I am not new to knives, been carrying one since the mid 70's when I got my Camillus Cub Scout knife.
Been through dozens over the years then a few years ago just started picking up ones here and there and now it seems I have a cool new hobby.

I tend not to discriminate when it comes to knives.
Some faves are SAK's, I have a fair bit of alox Soldiers from various years, I dig friction folders like Svord and Opinel, modern stuff is nice too, but lately I been gravitating to more slip joints.
GEC and Queen seen to be real nice for USA production stuff.
I have about a dozen GEC and a few Queen made knive and they are really well made.

As for the old stuff I have a bunch of stuff I need to go through, most is inexpensive from the 40's to present. Somehow I managed to accumulate over a dozen various electrician knifes over the years.
I like the pattern and I always see them at the flea markets.

Well thanks for having me.
I have already learned a lot reading the past few days and hope I can contribute to the community.
Take care, Will

Welcome Will. There's a lot to learn here.

Welcome! Don't be bashful - post some pics of your knives. If you haven't already found it there is a long-running thread on TL-29 electricians knives.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome.
Right now all I have is my phone for pics and it is pretty terrible.
I hope to soon get something nice, with a macro setting, because I do have a few questions about some of my knives that would be difficult to ask without said pictures.

Anyway Happy New Year to everyone here at AAPK.
