Help please - Case Classic Pattern/Handle material

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Help please - Case Classic Pattern/Handle material

Post by Slowride66 »

I purchased this knife a while back and didn't notice this until today. The handles are obviously synthetic yet the pattern # is 6223 Jumbo Trapper. I looked it up in volume 9 of the pocket knife trader's guide and the there is no mention of this knife. I'm not really sure of the Case material name. Anyone have any experience with this type of Case Classic knife? Someone said in another forum possibly a Proto but I have one from 1992 and it's etched "Proto". Box is no help either - it was a reused box.

Thanks!
