Western States was the original name beginning in 1911, I believe. The name was changed to Western around 1955-1956. The company was most recently sold to Camillus in the early 1990s. Camillus is now out of business, so I don't know what the story will be on that Brand. ::shrug::

A friend of mine now owns the "Western States" trademark. Last I talked to him he really didn't want the word out that he owns it. He is planning on making knives in the near future though.
