For this month, we have yet another great knife donation.

Scott (AAPK UN: Bloodhound) is giving away a great looking Case Muskrat knife to one lucky winner.

W.R. Case & Sons Muskrat that measures 3 7/8". Black G10 handle slabs with tru-sharp surgical stainless steel blades.

Knife will be sent to the winner following the drawing.

Simply click here and select a number between 0 and 1000.

You will have until the end of the day on May 30 (11:59 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number. The winner will be determined by the Illinois State Lottery evening pick three drawing on May 31. The Individual closest to the selected number will win. If there is a tie it will be the closest number without going over. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:

False alarm

It turns out that itchibelli is the winner. I mistakenly dubbed rexstubbins as the lucky one, but his pick was made after the deadline.

His intent was to test the system to see if it would allow a pick after the deadline. I appreciate his honesty in informing me of this.

Our system does allow picks after the deadline, but it is generally not a problem because the official list is usually gathered prior to the drawing time & entries made thereafter are not included as eligible.

I got tied up and was unable to gather an official list prior to the drawing this month. I should have checked post dates before the declaration & will most definitely start doing that in the future.

So anyways... I really messed this up & the winner based on the rules & deadlines is actually itchibelli ...

Hope all that makes sense...

Kind of neat that the winner turns out to be a brand new collector. Mike, it's not the Colonel Coon Mule Day Barlow you're looking for and it's not a Marble's which seems to be your first love but it's a nice knife and should make a valued addition to your pile. Congratulations and Welcome to AAPK. Too bad winning can't always be that easy.

And now for my apology. As you all know by now I didn't win. I noticed that the drawing was over and that I had not entered.

Not sure why I did it but I checked the winning numbers and realized that I could still pick a number. I'm a bit of a tinkerer and thought that I'd see if I could still pick a number. Well turns out I still could. I picked the winning number not at all thinking that I would win because the draw was over. I went to work and when I checked my email after work I saw that I had won.

I PM'd Bryan that I was not the winner.

I still feel like a turd that I even did this and want to apologize.

I still want to be a part of this community and I appreciate everyone's education and help on knife identification.

To that end I would like to offer up a knife for July's giveaway.

To all AAPK members,

I got this months knife today & I want to say "Thank You" to the contributor of the knife & to all the members for the info you share with one another. I am the guy who always has that "rare, 1 in a million chance of getting..........(fill in the dots)". I almost had a heart attack when I got an email telling me I had won the month's drawing. First thing I looked for was where I had to send a certified check or money order for $10,000.00 to cover postage with the overpayment to be sent back to me. I have been gleaming all sorts of great info on pocket knives thanks to you folks. I will be contributing a knife in the near future to keep this great tradition of this site alive. Thanks again to everyone.

Congrats again...glad the knife got there....I packaged it up and was going to get it in the mail before I left for vacation...it didn't happen in all the rush, so it made the trip from Colorado to South Dakota in the Toyota 4-Runner and I mailed it when I got to Rapid City...it is a well traveled knife. Enjoy
