Nice group of old Bokers.

Values are very subjective but as a guesstimate: The pearl and ivory inlaid tangs might be in the $50 - $100 ball park. The Red-Injun $30 plus or minus.

I would think they are all pre-1950.

Maybe someone else has a better idea.

Thanks!! I was thinking may 1900-1920 but I wasn't sure I'm a tree brand man so when I found them I had to have them. I seem to have got a good deal on them so that's a plus but thanks for the info.

Your MOP covered tang is the nicest of the three.

The razor with the celluloid/French ivory covered tang has a pronounced "frown". The edge of a razor should be either straight or curved as in a smile. Frowning comes from a lot of rough honing. May or may not affect collector value, but it darn sure affects "user" value.

Somewhere around here, somebody has a link or a pic of the different "trees" that H Boker used and when he used them.

As for value? I suggest doing a completed auction search on ebay for the types of razors you have.

I've got a few Boker straights. They're good shavers, but as they are full hollows, they're not my favorite style of razor. Lot of guys swear by 'em. To each their own.

Thanks I just got them because I'm a broker fan haven't shaved with them yet but I have thought about it. I have a tree brand broker stockman in my pocket that I carry daily I won't carry anything else so I guess I should shave with one to. I swear by broker all the way there's nothing that compares in my opinion

IF you have never shaved with a straight, there is a learning curve.

Funny thing about straights is that they will cut the Hell out you and still not be sharp enough for a good sahve. If a razor won't cut the hair on your arm ABOVE the skin a quarter or half inch or so, it isn't going to do much other than wear out your face, and make you talk nasty.

If those razors haven't been used in a number of years, they will need honing. I finish hone my razors on a 12K grit water stone. I start at either 600 or 1K depending on the condition of the bevel. Then 3K, 8K, and finally 12K, followed by stropping on linen then horsehide.

IF you've never shaved with a straight, there is a lot of info youtube that guys have posted about both honing and shaving. I'd suggest investing some time watching some of those. Start slow.

I can do a two pass shave in ten minutes. When I started straight shaving a bit over a year ago, it took me close to thirty minutes to make one pass.

Nowadays, aftershave rarely stings. About the only time it does is when one of my razors is getting a bit dull.

I shaved with a straight about a week ago but it didn't work out like planed. So I started doing some research on it an wow I had no clue bout the work you got to put into your razor . I used just a cheap no name razor so I thought if I want a good shave I have to use a good razor. Just got to figure out the honing.
