Thunder Basin Knives

Howdy from Middle Tennessee! I just won a tactical on ebay, and it's a brand of which I've never heard: Thunder Basin, of Sturgis, South Dakota. I took a flyer and won what will be a bargain, if it measures up to pics and description. It's described as an assisted opener with a 3.25 inch drop point blade of 440C (58hrc) and G10 scales. The blade has both a thumb-stud and a spine-accessible "trigger" that forms a guard upon opening. I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever heard of or seen any of these knives, and if they might know who actually makes these knives? There are several currently listed on ebay with pretty much standard deviations, coated blades, partial serrations, etc. Can anyone pass on any info? Thanks!

Replying to my own post, but just received this knife, and to say that I'm impressed would be an understatement! This thing screams quality! It's a bit heavy, but built like a tank. Received razor-sharp and functions like a dream, came in a quality box and shipping container, inside a velvet pouch and with a very well-made black leather sheath that snaps shut and features a belt loop that will fit even the widest belt. Even the pocket clip's tension is perfect. I can see no flaws whatsoever, but I also see nothing on either the knife, sheath, or box that states "Made in the USA", as it was advertised. I will say, though, that even if it actually is an import from "you know where", I'd still be absolutely satisfied with the quality with which this knife is obviously made for the price I paid ($24.50 delivered). Were this knife simply handed to me for an estimate of retail value, I'd expect a retail of more that twice what I paid, so I'm very satisfied with my purchase at this point. Edge retention remains to be evaluated, but I'm expecting that to be very good, as properly heat-treated 440C is an excellent performer, per my experience. I'd still like to know more about origin, and would appreciate any input from others. Thanks!

I did a search for Thunder Basin Knives and all I got back was ebay sales and amazon etc.???

The parent company must be someone else or I would think that they would emerge in a search?
