Gerber Mini Magnum

I found this Gerber in a pawnshop this week. The sheath says Gerber Shorty.
The knife is a Mini Magnum. According to Phil Rodenberg’s book it was made from 1969 to 1989.

The Mini Magnum was only made with the Lamb Handle; named after the designer Thomas Lamb; ref - LG4
It was made from 1969 to 1976 with the O.D. green Armorhide handle and from 1981 until 1989 with the black Armorhide handle.

This one has the black Armorhide handle, which dates it 1981-1989.

The sheath is for a Gerber Shorty, which allows the knife to set deeper in the pocket, making the knife more secure in the sheath, in my opinion.

It is a really nice knife, and in excellent condition!
Aside from the dirt on the sheath the knife itself appears to have been used very little.
There are a few scratches on the blade on the front side, but believe the blade still has the factory edge.

I was thrilled to get such a nice example of a classic old Gerber!
