Non-Stainless Peanut?

Hi...I hope I can tap into your vast knowledge base while I'm considering my next slipjoint...

Does anyone other than Case make a peanut size/style knife with non-stainless blades?

Don't get me wrong, that next knife, right now, is a Case Red Bone CV Peanut. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed some brand that I was unware of due to my new-guy-ness.

Well, schrade made a nice little peanut style knife, they can be had NOS on ebay fairly cheap. Here is one I rehandled and fileworked. They made it in a two blade as well.

Of course now I'll have to learn all about Schrade. I suppose worse things could happen than reading up on Schard pocketknives!

Oh, also, lovely knife! What are the scales made of?

And finally, I know the second when you or somebody else answers this one I'm gonna hit myself on the forehead, but, what's "NOS"?

NOS= New Old Stock

In case you were not aware USA Schrade went out of business in 2004. If you look around on ebay you can still find NOS knives at resonable prices. I would avoid the newer productions "Schrades" which are made in China for the new owner of the Schrade name. These new knives are stainless and are not as well made as the old ones. Model numbers would be a 12OT (1 blade) or the 72OT (2 blades)

New Old Stock...that would have taken me a while. Thanks also for the bonus info on Schrade. I was aware that they had gone out of business a while ago, but, at the same time, I have seen them being sold by, for example, Smoky Mountain (I was a little wary).

Your info has given me an excellent start on the path to Schrade enlightenment!

The old ones seem to be pretty universally beloved, am I correct?
