How do you find a patent?

I posted this elsewhere, then realized, with apologies, it belongs here. Please tell me if you know, how do you locate or verify a Canadian patent, probably an older one. This punch borrows features from several U.S. patent punches, unless it predates them which is doubtful. Can anyone help an often Google-challenged collector?

US patents are quite easily search on Google. If you go the search page and click on "more" then patents. Type in what you know and the " bingo " it is a GREAT tool.

I have used it very often. It is amazing. BUt remember that it sometimes has names confused. Brown comes out Browz sometimes. BUt the original is actual.
