Wanted: Schrade 7 OT

Post by Joe Dirt »

Hey guys, I need a spring or preferably a parts knife with decent "un-buffed" handles and good spring for this 7 OT that I just bought from "coffeecup."

Thanks for any help!

Does it have the 2 flat springs in it, like the ones on the left side of this picture?

Dale, the knife uses the earlier set-up with a spacer/spring retainer and separate round spring, as you show on the left. Looking inside the knife, the spring is still there, but loose. With a bit of careful work, it can be maneuvered into position, but is too short to apply adequate pressure to the lock bar, or even to stay in position while the blade is unlocked.

That was as far as I got before getting sidetracked, and putting the knife in a box with a bunch of other potential future projects. . . .
