NORTHWOODS #31
I've been saving my GEC shekels. It's not been a conscious effort but it was lodged in the back of my mind. The object of my savings program may be on the way. Since my imagination isn't really all that good, I'll have to wait for the completed product but I think the object of my imagined affections is the NORTHWOODS #31.

This is going to be a really nice knife. We have several blade configurations planned.

I know this is terrible, but I can't remember. We talked about it early on, but I have slept since then. I think 3.25.big monk wrote:okbohn wrote:This is going to be a really nice knife. We have several blade configurations planned.

Wow! If it comes out just like it shows in the diagram, looks pretty sweet. The blades sure do tuck nicely into the handle.

Every knife I have had Bill at GEC make for me has been great. His drawings are generally spot on.

Don't know about the half stops....I suspect they will be ready in the next couple weeks. GEC is working on them now.

Derrick, the video does not work. I have an elephant ivory on its way to me, I am looking forward to receiving it. I am tempted to order a second one with different scales ..........

Re: NORTHWOODS #31
I received my #31 today and it really is a sweet knife. It is really well made and I love the Wharnie blade, which does not have a half-stop but has nice snap. It will be competing with my GEC's conductors for pocket time. The Leather Moccasin? It totally dwarfs the #31. Something smaller with much softer leather would fit this knife more appropriately. Moccasin aside, I am very happy with my #31. Good Job!

Re: NORTHWOODS #31
Glad you like it! The moccasin works well for throwing the knife in a pack or the like, it doesn't work very well for the pocket. It is a cool substitute for a box, so we didn't worry about it being the perfect size for the knife. it is a one-size-fits-most solution.Dornblaser wrote:I received my #31 today and it really is a sweet knife. Re: NORTHWOODS #31
The moccasin is certainly a great substitute for a box. I didn't mean to come off as ungrateful, I have it already paired up with another GEC (and maybe a future Northwoods ?).
I got us a little off focus as the #31 is a splendid knife!

Re: NORTHWOODS #31
Nope--no problem. I just wanted to clarify that we didn't try to match them by size.
