Stag pattern aluminum handle hunting knife question

I posted this in the general knife question but then realized there's a whole other section with fixed blade gurus. I have this aluminum handled stag pattern knife that I am trying to get information on. It looks as though it had etching on the blade at one time but it is very faint and I can't read it or get a good picture of it. Here are pictures of the knife. Any info would be helpful.

Has a lot of the looks of a Murphy Combat from WW2. More than likely a knock off by one of several companies out to make a few bucks.
