naugatuck cutlery

does anyone have any info on naugatuck cutlery, years in business and what they made, I could only find out small bits and pieces ,thanks

1872-1888 mfr. out of naugatuck, ct.

yes I have one, I was told they were in business 1863-1877

According to Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings, Naugatuck Cutlery Company was in business from 1872-1888, just as johnnie mentioned. There was a business after the factory closed, but it appears to have lasted only until 1891.

Exactly how the stamp reads, and whether curved or straight, might help narrow it down...providing the knife is real and correct.

i got my dates from three sources. that don't make em right necessarilly. i can't find very much history besides goins having a paragraph.

close inspection is needed to determine the knifes origin. how about some pictures.
