Tested 6445 R

Did case ever make a tested 6445 R without the pattern number stamped on, no shield and a non pinned bail(removable)? I put in a bid on one, but now I am having a bad feeling.

Most Tested knives will not have the pattern number stamped. The Tested 6445R's were made in a lot of variations, no shield version is common, the removable bail version is less common but does exist. I show a few variants in my book including no shield with pinned bail, and removable bail with oval shield. But removable bail and no shield certainly can be real.

Look at page 161 lower left corner (unpinned bail) and upper left (pinned bail no shield).

As an aside, I have those available if interested PM me.
