Just got back from Oregon, and have a bunch of knives to post later tonight. Most of the time I look for Schrade Cut. Co.s and older knives, but I tripped over this big sucker sticking out into the aisle. So to save my fellow knifers from barking their shins, I bought it, and got some help to carry it out to the car !
I didn't know there was such a big OT!!! 4 5/8" long, a stockman; if you see it in a picture, you wouldn't know it's that big because the proportions are just like their other stockman patterns. I'm assuming they didn't make too many, or I just have never recognized them. Enlighten me please!!

That's a nice OT there. They seem to be going through the roof on Ebay these days (usually over $100 for NIB). Hopefully, you got her for less than that. Did you run into Dale while you were there? I think Dale would have liked to have knocked his shin on one of those.

Dale was there! The gentle giant!!! Is he looking for one? That knife is about his size.
It cost me $85, so it wasn't a total bargain, but against $100, I guess it is O.K. I found it after he was gone, but I guess he'll see this, and have a word with me !

These are the two largest stockmen they made the 858 is just a tad smaller than the IXL. LT PS did you pick up any automatics ( domestic) also congrats on the farmers jack on the bay since unless mistaken you just won. It is a nice and rare pattern.

It is a nice pattern, but I need a sheath for it. It is almost too big for the pocket.

Charlie & I had a nice visit. He was good enough to allow me to rest behind his table. I tried not to drool on his Empires. He had them in waterproof cases.

I bought one of Charlie's famous Schatt & Morgan Harnass Jacks. It is a very sweet knife! Great ebony scales & carbon steel!

Well, that may be a bit easy for me I'll give someone else a chance.
I met Dale at the show as we charged through looking for good deals. I never did find Charlie's table, when I left it was solid packed with people. I did see that some very interesting things sold out, or nearly so on Friday night. By Saturday at 10:30 AM, Bill Rupple was sold out and Alpha Knife was nearly sold out of some real nice blue mammoth bone.
Next year, I'll join the club and go on Friday night, see what I missed out on.

A good time was had by all, Charlie, where were you?

BTW, at a knife show wearing a camoflage hat is not the best way to find someone. Care to guess what was the most common hat color? You guessed it, Cammo

One auto came to me in a trade. I won a nice custom hunter in the raffle (first time I've won a big prize in 6 years!) This fellow came up to me and offered me this little Schrade Cut. switch, 3 3/8", and a modest pile of cash for it, so the answer was affirmative!
There were hundreds of autos there, LT, many domestic, old and custom! As you know, they are legal in Oregon ('bout time you moved, don't you think??). My friend Bob, who traveled down there with me bought several. Just this one for me!

Cool stuff Charlie. I've got an 858 OT, it's one hefty knife. I always thought of it to be a good platform for a custom, since schrade never used it for any special editions and there is no old stock equivilent, it would be something unique. I just need to find a donor, don't want the chop up my only one . Mine is not stamped schrade + though. That's a nice little auto there too.

You got me Johnnie. I can remember things that happened 40 years ago, but can't remember if I ate breakfast!

I did make one find that surprised me. A TL-29 made by Western, in Bolder, CO, before the Camillus I believe.
I did not know that Western had made a TL pattern. Charlie had a couple nice Empire electrician knives, but they were quite a bit different from the standard TL pattern. Very nice though.

First a note of thanks for showing me your Lumberjacks etc. LT!
Second here are some of the better knives I scored at the show. I sold a bunch of Case and other knives to afford these, so I guess my commitment has been made!!
Bottom picture;

Small 4 blade congress walden;
Big 4 blade congress walden.

Serpentine moose- cut co;
Nickle-silver handle pruner.
My favorites are the serpentine moose, and the big double-end jack (sort of like 2/3 of a stockman)!

The KK barlow looks a lot like a Camillus.
The D.E. jack is either a Schrade or an Empire??
The lockback is a gen-you-wine Oregon adaption of a Schrade, and proof that Dale was there !
An incredibly mint, advertising, etched Empire is next.
Then a Lawton Cutlery Harness Jack, with a spiral punch, so maybe a Camillus? Anyone ever heard of Lawton??
Finally, one of those beautiful, though worn, Schrade serpentine trappers!

Lawton was out of Chicago around 1895. According to Mr Levine they weren't a cutlery but an importer whose trademark was Square Deal.. The knife was probably made for them in Germany or Bohemia.
