New to me Ka-Bar Barlows

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

In the last 3 days, I got these two in the mail.

This one came Saturday...its a Kabar Barlow...the main blade was a little weak on the open, but is a strong 1/2 stop and snaps closed. It came sharp just a little spot of rust on the bolster...the #2 blade is great...it walks and talks...I cleaned it and sprayed some penitrating oil on it and now the main blade is stronger on the open and I really like it.

This one came today. I was surprised that it was smaller, but it is WAY NICE! both blades snap open to 1/2 then sanp to full open and snap closed on both blades! I have only had this knife a couple of hours....but I am in love with this one!

Its true that these Ka bar barlows are something special and not just becuase of the half stops. That steel is tempered just right to hold and find a very sharp edge.

I got one for cheap at a flea market early this Spring.
