Hi gmusic. John Newton & Co existed 1860s to 1920s. With England on it your knife was made 1891 or there after. One of the company tradmarks was a toad. The knives often had 'Manhattan' stamped on them as well. In America, these knives were imported by H. Boker of New York. I think this is something different from a 'toad sticker', which is like a large toothpick folding knife. I defer to those more familiar with the toad sticker for background on them. I would like to see a full shot of your knife please . Looks like great stag handles.
