Restoring old pocket knife.

Post by srobocop »

When i was younger and irresponsible, my dad gave me a pocket knife he recieved from his dad, and being young and stupid, i left it outside, well the knife suffered some rust and what not

not only feeling bad due to the fact that i let this happen in the past (i'm 21 now), i feel that i should at least try to restore the knife to its original quality.

is there any good way to remove and/or repair a knife that has moderate rust damage on it? if pics would help i can probably get some up in a week or two. thank you in advance for any help.

rust usually means it's time to sand the blades and springs, if it's real bad machines come into the equation. Pictures would help determine what action to take.

Hi srobocop, Welcome to AAPK. ::welcome::

A picture would help. There are several of us here at AAPK who repair knives. Muskrat Man, agteacher & myself are among them. I have lost track of just how many of us do repairs for people.

Post some pictures and one of us can probably tell you if the knife is salvageable.

Stick around and enjoy the forum. It is a great way to spend some time.
