Another hawkbill project

Post by muskrat man »

Well, I decided I would start working on a hawkbill in between orders, so here is the start of it. A Klein with a little vine filework the length of the spring and curling around the butt of the spring, I polished the blade back up like a mirror. New handles (pinned) will be put on soon along with a brass lined lanyard hole, and maybe milled liners. I'm going to flute the bolsters while I'm at it too. The spring is real strong, so the liner lock is gonna go.

That vine is nice Kaleb. So is the whole knife for that matter. ::tu::

WB just sent me a Holub Hawk with a liner lock. The blade is really worn, so I think I will make it a Wharncliffe. I am thinking about leaving the lock on it. It is going to have to wait until I get some more jobs finished.

That vine filework is fantastic MM, it really puts that touch of class to finish out your work. ::tu::

And here we are. Curly oak, satin finished bolsters and spring, mirror polished blade, vine filework, brass pins and brass lined lanyard hole, and liner lock removed. I have a guy interested and if he doesn't take it, it will be going up in my AAPK store.

Thanks Ken, I haven't experimented much with wattage since I got the box itself figured out, will try some different bulbs soon, thanks for the tip.
