Robeson Safety Straight Razor

Post by RobesonsRme.com »

This very nice Robeson safety shielded straight razor, box and papers sold on Ebay this past week
for $76.00.

I bid $75.00. Guess I should have gone higher.

This is only the second one of these I've ever seen. I have seen a similar razor marked Terrier,
but with a different, almost gunstock shaped handle.

If they date from the same time period, it would be circa 1910 - 1916.

This one is extremely nice.I really wish I'd wanted it as much when I bid as I do now that I missed it.

Photos should expand with a left click.

Interesting and that was a NICE one. Sorry ya missed it. :(

Looks like a variation on theme. I think Curly's had a patent on a razor with a guard in the late 1880's. Totally different system than the one shown, but the idea seems to be about the same.

I guess Robeson was trying to stay ahead of Gillette.
