Is This a Bayonet Or Fixed Blade Knife ???

Hi found recently in my uncles garage in a box he bought at a yard sale like 10 years back. The piece doesnt have any marking but looks like a knife but the sheath makes me think it may have been a bayonet. Does anyone recognize this??? If you have information relating to this could you please share. Thanks

I think you are right. Probably what they call a theater knife. Some one turned a bayonet into a knife during their spare time during the war. Or some time after.
I measure my collection by the ton.
Whoever dies with the most tools wins......Now accepting donations.
